- Description:
- The Stabyhoun is a rare Dutch gundog from Friesland, used to point, retrieve, and hunt vermin on farms. The AKC lists the breed in FSS; the UKC classes it as a Gun Dog.
- Temperament:
- Stabyhouns are typically gentle, people-oriented, and eager to work. They need field work or long walks. They are usually good house dogs if they get enough exercise.

- They learn quickly and respond to quiet, consistent training.

- Brush the long coat weekly so the feathering does not mat.
