- The Treeing Cur is an American squirrel and raccoon dog from the rural South and Midwest. It locates game and trees it. The UKC classes it as a Scenthound.

- These curs are typically hardy, loyal to their hunter, and determined on a track. They have a carrying voice and need more work than a short walk.

- Train the recall early and give the dog a hunting job.
